Days of Dahlia

Come and celebrate the launch of our cutting garden as we embark on our first year as flower growers. Join us for the full day, take part in festivities, a workshop, a woodland walk, enjoy food by the bonfire or just drop in. All welcome! Think languid summer afternoons, stretching meadows, bunting, nodding flower heads, fresh air, family get togethers, and long shadows.

Featuring:

Days of Dahlia Pop-up shop 1-6pm: Flowers, plants and seeds available to buy throughout the day

Woodland Walk 1:30-2pm: Join us on a short walk to our wooded glen and rock pool, a site of rich history and spiritual importance.

Kite Flying 2pm: Enjoy the serenity of leaning back while the breeze takes your colourful sentinel into the sky.

Cornucopia 2-4pm : Take part in a workshop and learn how to create a free-flowing vase arrangement using the most beautiful seasonal flowers and foliage to achieve that just-gathered-from-the-garden look.

Growing Flowers 3-3:30pm: A walk through our cutting garden with discussion about the benefits, joy and satisfaction of growing your own flowers both in terms of environmental consciousness and achieving a garden-gathered aesthetic.

Summer Supper BBQ from 4pm

Bonfire & marshmallows from 5pm: Pull up a seat at the fire and unwind.

Please don’t use google maps or sat nav to find us! Instead, follow these directions. Put the Eglinton Arms Best Western Hotel in Eaglesham on the sat nav/google maps and when you reach it, it should be on your right hand side (if you are coming from Glasgow via M77) just before a set of traffic lights. Go straight on through the lights and you will quickly reach countryside heading towards a wind farm. When you do reach the countryside, take the second left (signposted for Strathaven). The road to our farm is about 2 miles from this point, you will pass a little hamlet of houses (Millhall), a bridge, three farms and big white house by a river. There’s a bridge immediately after that house and we are the white cottage at the top of the hill on the corner. You will be directed to your parking space on arrival.
