Ever fancied gathering your own flowers? The Cotswold Posy Patch is joining in with The Flower Farmer’s Big Weekend to host an open morning this summer where you’ll get the chance to see our working flower patch and wander amongst the gorgeous blooms, choosing your favourites to pick and make a jam jar posy. There will also be a jam jar decorating station where you can decorate the jar with a selection of raffia, lace, and other pretty things.
On the day we’ll tell you a bit about our work, how we prepare the ground, plant, care for and harvest our flowers. We’ll guide you around the patch, helping you select and cut your flowers, and answering any questions you might have along the way. You’ll get to decorate your jar and then take your posy of flowers home with you.
This event would be great for anyone wanting an insight into how we grow our flowers, or the opportunity to pick their own posy.
Please be aware that due to the horticultural nature of this site, including uneven, narrow, and sometimes muddy paths, it may be difficult to navigate for disabled customers.
There are a number of sessions you can book: 9-9.45am, 9.45-10.30am, 10.30-11.15am, 11.15-12.00
SatNav doesn’t take you to quite the right turning along the A46. Coming from the A417 roundabout, take the A46 towards Cheltenham and then immediately turn left, following signs for Primrose Vale Farm.
Free parking available at the farm shop, a short walk from our flower patch
Should the weather be inclement we will stay inside the polytunnel, where there will be a selection of flowers to cut, and a selection of pre-cut flower stems and foliage to choose from
